Thanksgiving wishes.

I would like to wish everyone a very happy Thanksgiving if you are celebrating this week. We do not have this tradition here in Britain but I know plenty of people who will be getting together for the holiday, so for all of you, have a good one!

“O Lord that lends me life, Lend me a heart replete with thankfulness” William Shakespeare

  2. Woops, made a bit of a pig's ear of that! It should have said:
We don't have Thanksgiving, of course, but I do wish you all a very happy one - and for that image and the Shakespeare quote, a very special one for you.

  3. I have said it before and I will say it again acornmoon - every time I see one of your designs I want it as a jig-saw!

  4. Dave, I have tried to leave comments on your blog but I think you have a gremlin!

Weaver, thanks for that suggestion, maybe a jig saw manufacturer will visit my blog and take note, I think the sky part may be a bit boring though. I have always loved wooden jig saws the best although you don't see them very much nowadays.

  5. As always, a beautiful illustration! Thank you for the Thanksgiving wishes...here in NC we are indeed busy preparing for the holiday. Knowing that I enjoy cooking, my two sons (ages 27 and 29) have each requested their particular favorites for desserts.... and now their girlfriends are giving in their requests too! Looks like lots of time in the kitchen for me... love it!

  6. I have tagged you today at a cat in my lap, as the topic is one you might enjoy: random thoughts on books.

I hope you will play along and give us a nugget of good thought!

  8. Ah. I always kind of wish we did celebrate Thanksgiving here in Ireland. It seems such a wholesome and righteous (in the best way) of festivals.

    Beautiful image Valerie.

  10. Up until fairly recently I hadn't ever seen a turkey alive with its feathers on! A large bird to say the least. Makes sense really when you see the size they come in ready for the oven! x

  11. Hello from America, and many thanks for the Thanksgiving Day wishes and the festive turkey.

I also wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed reading your last post. Certainly something for which to give thanks is that your designs will be produced traditionally. How very sad that many potteries continue to close. I collect old china, and would love some day to see where it was made. Looks as if I will have do make a tour very quickly!

    Cheers!
