Children's Book Giveaway

Thank you so much for all the lovely comments you left about my children's book. It has been very heartwarming to read them, I really do appreciate your visits. This week I am hosting my own giveaway open to anyone who cares to enter. I have a signed copy of “White is the Moon” to give to you but first, I hope you will help me in a little market research. I have recently had some postcards printed, there are two sets available in my Etsy shop and I am wondering which people will like the best? So, if you would like a free, signed copy of my book please leave a comment below and say which animal postcard appeals to you the most.
I have always loved frogs, though I know that many hate them, it was lovely to see so many tadpoles whilst walking yesterday. We have been experiencing very heavy rain and cold, wintry weather but yesterday saw a bit if sunshine so we put on our dog walking boots and headed to the fields. The rain has made everything look so fresh and green, cowslips and primroses in flower, every cloud has a silver lining I suppose!
I will choose a winner on Wednesday the 2nd of May, so bye for now and good luck.

  1. Hi Valerie

I love all your cards but I like the seals most. I love the bright colours you have used in this painting and the affection that the seals show one another. They are so sweet and so cute!

    Greetings from Italy

  2. Hello, these are absolutely gorgeous. My favourite is the Puffin, the picture is very atmospheric and evocative. I also really like the fox.
Thanks for the chance to win your book. :-)

  3. Both sets of cards are gorgeous! Even though I am very attracted to the blues in the first set and love those seals, my pick would be the second woodsy green set with the wonderful red fox.

  4. For a single card, definitely the sunny frog. He is just so adorable. For a group, I would choose #2 the fox/owl/frog. Although I love the colors and subject matter of #1, your foxes always win out for me, and I love your owls. Happy day to you! :)

  5. Tricky one that, I like them all! I particularly like the two curious fox ones... the seals though are beautiful with all the rock pool details in the foreground too and the beautiful colours and composition...

  6. I love the second set of cards with the fox but then I am much more of a fields and woodland person than a seashore type. My absolute favourite is the one of the fox and the frog together, you've caught the fox's face perfectly.
How lovely to see photos with sunshine in them - it's been pouring down again today and I'm seriously considering drawing up plans for an ark:)

  9. How difficult to decide, I loved the seal but peraps even more the close up of the fox. I am afraid I am a sea and paddock person, and I also like frogs so I dont think I have been of much use. My 4 year old grand daughter would love your book.

  14. The woodland set is my favourite, I always love the woods and all the animals there, they are very popular at the moment too! But all your illustrations are beautiful. I like your cowslips too, don't see them as much nowadays so this is a lovely shot! I will keep my fingers crossed to win.:)

  15. Oh they are all lovely, really, so I must chose based on my favorite animals. So my firest favorite is the owl and the moon, the second, the owl and the fox, and then the fox and the frog. I love frogs, too, especially the tiny gray tree frogs that sing magical songs from the trees from May through the summer.

Cold weather here, too. A freeze warning for tonight!
    Stay warm!

  16. All of the cards are beauties. I'm drawn to the woodland scenes with the lovely trees, fox, and owl. Love that green frog with the pebbles and wildflowers :)

  17. I had a hard time picking between them, so I'll give you my top three picks. (grin)

My eye was first drawn to the two seals. I love the coloring and placement--so much detail, I wanted to look and keep on looking.

Then I noticed the fox and the owl. WOW! I LOVE that piece--there's something whimsically moving about this lovely little drawing.

The third one I liked was that frog. I love the look on his face, the way each pebble beneath his spindly toes seems to glow and wondrous detail of the flowers.

So, there you have it. My favs. The others aren't far behind. Like I said, it was hard to choose!

Have a perfectly beautiful day, my talented Friend! ((hugs))

  18. By the way, what are those incredibly beautiful yellow flowers? I don't think I've ever seen anything like them here.

  19. For me it must be frogs, foxes and owls...but they're all lovely! I think your dog believes he's as big as that stick! It's a JR thing!

  20. Hi Valerie,
Both sets of cards are amazing, but I would choose the set with the fox in it. Best of both worlds with the little fox and the owl. My favourites!

  22. I love all your cards, but I should say my favorite is the fox!!

  23. I love the mystery of the dark woods in the fox/owl card, so I would choose that set. Love foxes, love owls, love the moon - so the set with the owl/moon shot almost had me...but, like most readers here, I ended up choosing the second set. Lovely work.

  24. Absolutely beautiful. I love the Puffins, definitely those first, and secondly - the Seals.
    Thanks for the opportunity.

  25. What a difficult choice - both sets are lovely! I live in an area of New England that allows me to be at the ocean or in the mountains in less than an hour - I always head to the mountains, so I guess that's what I favor the second set with the fox and owl and frog. Now my sister, on the other hand, would adore the first set - she's live at the ocean if she could!

  26. I ordered my copy of "White is the Moon" from Amazon two weeks ago and it arrived here,in Canada, this morning. Just beautiful, but the illustration that simply speaks to me is of the fox in the bosky wood.
I'm sure I know that place!

  27. I like the frog. I have a thing for them. I believe they are so misunderstood. :) There are several "frog habitats" in our back yard yet one great big ole baby took up residence in a gallon jar I was safe-keeping irises in until I could plant them. He lived there for such a long time. I have photos to prove it. So, the frog gets my vote.
