Beautiful Boy.

This little baby is our beautiful, precious grandson who was born on Thursday the 17th September, his name is George Gareth. The photograph was taken shortly after he was born. He has been in a special care baby unit ever since after developing breathing problems, he is now much improved but still being cared for in hospital. Understandably it has been a very difficult time for us but we are hopeful that he will soon be home where he belongs with his mummy and daddy. We are so proud of them for coping so well under very difficult circumstances.

  9. He looks very characterful. It must have been terrifying when things didn't go smoothly. Hope all is well now and that the time for worrying is past. Once he is ok . . . it will simply be exciting.

(I expect the next thing will be years of baby-sitting?)

  14. Thank you all so much for your very supportive comments and words of encouragement. I have just heard that our little Georgie is now breathing on his own and is with his mummy. We are so blessed, so happy that he has improved. It has been agony seeing the hurt and worry on the faces of our son and his partner, we have felt so helpless.

  19. Many congratulations to you all and hello to little George. My youngest spent his first three weeks in the baby care unit and I know how hard it is to be separated from your baby even though you know he is in the best place, so I am very pleased to hear that he is with his mummy now.

  24. Great news that he's breathing on his own. My two boys were quite compromised at birth but now they're strapping big beautiful gents! But it is terribly scary, and I know the feeling of helplessness and having to trust that the experts know what's best. How wonderful though that pediatric medicine has come so far! Granny Acornmoon... how lovely!
